Welcome to cunningham Academy
For some, it is a dream to go to a private-boarding school. Anyone who’s anyone would to go to one. To live on their own without any parents on their backs, to fend for themselves, to live their lives without any responsibility.
Welcome to Cunningham Academy. An Academy free from parents, siblings, and just overall family life. Think of this place as your own private Neverland. The brochure says that Cunningham Academy is the most top rated school in the country, with its highly-urbanized campus, its advanced academic program, and its excellent programs in music and sports. The school only selects the best of the best as it is expected to do so by most parents who send their kids here. To go to Cunningham is more of a privilege than a punishment, as most kids are left here by their parents to learn and become better people, but what they don't know is that they are actually sending their kids to a kid's heaven. A place where they can run free and just be themselves.
Cunningham Academy is set on the outskirts of New York City. Although it is close to New York; Milton has a whole new feel to it. It's more of a suburb than a city, holding bright green grass and a wet, muggy feel to it. The Academy is situated on the hills of Milton, just a thirty minute bus ride to New York City. Every weekend, students are allowed out of the school campus and into the New York streets for some overall fun in the city of dreams. This is another advantage students have, as various New Yorkers eventually become their friends and what not.
But although the brochure makes the academy sound like such a theme park, there are a few down points to them. There are serious house rivalries in Cunningham. There are four houses. Two for the guys and two for the girls. There's the Keegan House that houses all the all-American-guys with their loud, obnoxious sports minds, and their belching farting contests, there's the Adalardo House, which houses the more classy guys, with their gentlemen charm and the face and riches to go along with it. The Imogen house carries the prim and petite girls. These girls partner with the Adalardo House. The Imogen house are the girly girls who love make up, clothes, and just the over all essence of being a girl. The Aithne House partners up with the Keegan House as they are the girls who don't care. They throw their hair back and enjoy the ride during road trips, and they just enjoy life. They take risks, and sometimes even join in with the fun during Keegan burping contests.
I guess they were actually right when they said parents just don't understand. But then again, there will always be those heroes and heroines who decide to be different. To break out of the Cunningham Academy stereotype. To be something different. The actually not stick to the status quo. Will you be the certain hero or heroine to break the curse?
